When we think of dandruff, we mostly think of it on the scalp, but it can be in other places, including eyebrows, around the nose, and for men in their beards or on their chest. Many times, it can go away simply with dandruff shampoos, and sometimes it needs something a bit stronger. Cirrhosis and seborrhoiec dermatitis and dry skin have an overlapping appearance—they look similar, and it is sometimes difficult to separate them, so we have to examine you closely and treat you appropriately. Outside of infancy, children don’t tend to get Seborrhoeic dermatitis – it is more common in oily skin and people tend to present it later in life. This is the same with cirrhosis; you don’t see it much in children, but mostly in groups of people in their 20’s and then again in their 50’s. On the other hand, eczema you can see at any age.
