Summer will always be my favorite season. I love the longer days, summer dresses, and the feeling of warm sunshine. It’s the best.
My skin is also at its best during the summer. My itchy dry skin issues from winter disappear, and because my skin is more hydrated, my fine lines are less noticeable. I change my skincare routine from season to season, starting with a transitional period. As it warms up and the humidity starts to climb, I focus on exfoliating and nourishing products that help shed dull dry skin and protect my skin from damage.
My Summer Skincare Transition
I wash my face year-round with Skin Resource.MD Total Facial Cleansing Gel. That never really changes unless I’m going through a phase of oily skin, not sure why that happens, but when it does I use a tea tree cleanser instead. But when it warms up, I use less heavy moisturizers and rely mostly on an oil-free moisturizer and hyaluronic serum. But, let’s get into what I do to make that transition from dull winter skin to brighter summer skin.
Alpha-Hydroxy Skin Renewal Serum
When I’m making the transition to warmer weather, I start by upping my usage of Alpha-Hydroxy Skin Renewal Serum. Instead of using it just a couple of times a week, I’ll put it on at bedtime every other day. It always leaves my skin looking brighter and makes my fine lines less noticeable.
Crystal Clarity
I also use Crystal Clarity in the shower to further exfoliate. The scrub is great for reducing the appearance of acne scars and always makes me feel so fresh and clean! I use this a few times a week during the summer.
Baobab

I really love to be outside and in the sun.
